Peer review and expert witness engagement for an owners corporation across a 38-lot strata complex experiencing widespread waterproofing failures. Testing included concrete scanning, thermal imaging, AAMA 501.2 calibrated rain wand testing, flood testing, moisture mapping, and laboratory sampling. Builder entered liquidation prior to warranty expiry; HBCF insurance claim supported. Insurers accepted liability for the majority of identified major defects.

Fairfax Road, Mosman
Mosman, NSW
Waterproofing, facade drainage and design, project management, and quality assurance for a rooftop upgrade on a premium Sydney Harbour-positioned residence. Issues included water ponding, inadequate drainage gradients, degraded membrane, and absent overflow provisions. Solutions included concrete parapet raising to achieve 4-degree internal grade, six overflow provisions, PVC welded fully adhered membrane, tapered insulation, and solar panel preparation. A 20-year manufacturer and applicator warranty was secured.

Bowral & District Hospital

Waterproofing design, project management, and quality assurance for a regional hospital experiencing water ingress to the ICU, private suites, and common areas. Scope included facade testing using rain wand, inspection camera, smoke machine, and infrared. Proprietary cavity flashing system, wall ties, brick sizing, and weep holes designed and installed. All water ingress issues fully resolved. Completed with a Tier 2 Principal Contractor.

Forensic analysis and recommendations for water ingress through a recently completed high-profile commercial refurbishment in the Sydney CBD. Scope included review of construction drawings, thermal and moisture mapping, forensic investigation to determine cause of failures, and guidance on repair methodology. Water ingress impacted multiple commercial tenancies. Engaged by Growthbuilt.

Griffith Hospital

Waterproofing and roofing quality assurance inspection across the entirety of Griffith Base Hospital. Scope included ITP review, condition and installation assessment, product suitability inspection, defect identification, and ongoing peer review advisory. Completed in partnership with a Tier 2 Principal Contractor.

Expert opinion engagement for government authorities investigating stormwater contamination of local waterways. Scope included comprehensive CCTV survey using tractor cam and mini cam equipment, UV fluoroscene dye tracing, culvert inspection, and contamination pathway tracing. Expert report prepared with findings and responses to Letter of Instructions.

Huntingdon Gardens, Bexley

Forensic investigation, design, and superintendent services for Ibis Care Holdings following water ingress to a commercial kitchen and moisture penetration through the southern facade of an occupied Class 9c aged care facility. Cavity flashing replacement, crack stitching, render repairs, facade coatings, and hydraulic works. Total project value $492,330.

Expert witness engagement for NSW District Court proceedings. Instructed by Sparke Helmore to inspect a mixed-use commercial building and prepare a UCPR Schedule 7 compliant expert witness report addressing water ingress, waterproofing deficiencies, and consequential damage. Scope included forensic site inspection, review of reference documents, and responses to a Letter of Instructions. A 108-page expert witness report was prepared and provided to instructing solicitors.

Forensic investigation of water ingress to balconies and consequential structural damage at a residential property. Scope included inspection of Level 1 front and east balconies and ground floor courtyard, thermal imaging, joist and wall plate assessment, and engagement of structural engineering review. Multiple inspection reports prepared across 2025–2026.
